Where It All Began
Scandinavian Quilt Co was founded on a simple conviction: Australians deserve bedding that is genuinely world-class — not just in appearance, but in the quality of every feather and down inside. We looked to the place where the art of down bedding has been refined over centuries: Northern Europe.
The Scandinavian tradition of crafting quilts and pillows from the finest European goose down is built on cold winters, long nights, and an uncompromising respect for sleep. We brought that tradition home to Australia, and we have never looked back.
Sourcing: European & Nordic Down
Everything begins with the fill. We source exclusively from European and Nordic suppliers — longstanding partners who share our commitment to purity, provenance, and ethical practice. Our down is carefully selected for loft, fill power, and cleanliness, ensuring that every quilt and pillow we produce delivers the warmth-to-weight ratio that makes Scandinavian bedding so celebrated worldwide.
We do not cut corners on sourcing. The difference between ordinary down and exceptional down is felt the moment you slip under one of our quilts — and it is a difference worth protecting.
IDFB Accreditation
Our supplier holds ongoing membership with the International Down and Feather Bureau (IDFB) — the global body that sets the standards for responsible down and feather trade. IDFB membership is not a one-time achievement; it requires annual renewal and adherence to strict sourcing and quality benchmarks.
Our supplier have maintained continuous IDFB membership since 2020, with certificates renewed every year. This gives you confidence that the down inside your quilt meets internationally recognised standards for quality and traceability.

Independent Testing to Australian Standards
We go beyond accreditation. Down we import is independently tested by IDFL — one of the world's leading down and feather testing laboratories — against Australian Standards (AS 4823.3). These tests verify fill power, cleanliness, composition.
Testing is conducted regularly, not just once at launch. You will find test reports stretching back to 2022, with the most recent report completed in June 2026. We publish every report openly, because transparency is not a marketing claim — it is a commitment.
